National cricket team captain and legendary batsman Babar Azam has come close to breaking another world record of Indian captain Virat Kohli.
Babar Azam, 26, needs just 60 runs to complete the fastest 2,000 runs in T20 international cricket.
At present, the record for the fastest 2,000 runs is held by Indian captain Virat Kohli, who did it in 56 innings.
Babar Azam, who recently snatched the number one position from Virat Kohli in the batsmen's rankings in ODIs, has scored 1940 runs in 49 innings.
Babar Azam, a right-handed player from Lahore, also scored the first century of his career in the T20 series against South Africa.
Babar Azam was awarded Man of the Series for his excellent batting in the four-match series.
It should be noted that the first match of the three-match T20 series between Pakistan and Zimbabwe will be played.
